Wheel Fest Cruise In 2001 bigger and better

The 2001 Hamlin Wheel Fest Cruise In had another record year for attendance. A 22 percent increase brought the number of registered vehicles to 74. There were also displays of vintage bicycles, pedal cars, fire trucks and equipment, hit and miss engines, a new car corral, vintage police car, the Travelers Catastrophic Claims Van (Cat Van) sponsored by Shephard-Maxwell-Hale Insurance office, and more.

The Cruise In Crew appreciates the support given by following businesses: Town of Hamlin, Larry's Auto Service, Waye Motors, The Over The Hill Gang, Blockbuster Video, Brockport Ford, Mulkin Chev/Olds, Courtesy Pontiac/Buick/GMC, Doan Chev/Olds, R & J Carpet Cleaners, Tops Market (West Avenue, Rochester), Hilton NAPA, all Cruise In participants.

Award winners were: long distance - David Smith, 1987 Chevy MonteCarlo SS, Elba; chairman's choice - Karen Godshall, 1934 Dodge; and popular choice - Larry Zugehoer, 1963 Plymouth.
