Brockport sets public hearing on Code of Conduct

Brockport Central Schools will hold a public hearing during its regularly scheduled board of education meeting on Tuesday, June 19, from 7:20 to 8:20 p.m. at the administration building, 40 Allen Street. The purpose of the meeting is to present the draft Code of Conduct to the board and the public before the board acts to adopt the Code. The Code of Conduct was developed in accordance with the regulations of the Commissioner of Education.

The intent of the Code of Conduct is to promote responsible behavior that creates an orderly and safe school environment. It is the belief of the Brockport Central School District that everyone in the community must strive toward contributing to this goal. The objective is to develop a moral school community based on: responsible behavior, mutual respect, concern for others, cooperation with others, and personal excellence. A committee of teachers, administrators, and non-teaching personnel has worked to develop this draft of the document since February. Community members, parents, teachers, administrators, non-teaching personnel, and legal council have reviewed the draft. In accordance with the regulations of the Commissioner, the code will be reviewed annually.
