Holley Sesquicentennial Pageant

The Village of Holley plans to present the Holley Sesquicentennial Pageant to choose representatives from three age groups to reign over the Sesquicentennial Festivities on August 4.

Young ladies who attend Holley Central Schools or live in the Holley area, are eligible for the competition on Friday, August 3. Girls ages 5-8 will compete at the Holley Jr./Sr. High School for the Duchess title, ages 9-13 for the Princess and 14-18 for Queen.

Contestants for Duchess will compete in a party dress and an onstage interview that leads to answering the question, "Why Do You Like Living in Holley?" Princess contestants will compete in a party dress or gown, have an onstage interview and read an original story about a real or make-believe experience they have had in Holley. The Queen will be announcing events throughout the day of the Sesquicentennial Festivities and will be expected to be able to speak freely in front of a group as well as to individuals. Therefore, the contestants for the Queen division will have a private interview with judging panel, compete in a gown, give up to a three minute speech about and answer an impromptu question about Holley.

All contestants will participate in the Grand Parade on Saturday evening.

Applications will be available in the Village Office. Call directors Roxane Gifaldi (638-6218) or Penny Cole (638-8315) with questions.
