Hilton High School seniors' portfolios recognized

On May 31 at the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Printing, two Hilton High School seniors, Phuong La and Trieu La, received awards for placing first and second respectively in the Rochester Club of Printing House Craftsmen's annual Portfolio Competition. "They competed against students from around the county," said teacher Ron Hindmarch. "Both students have won many awards and have become a real asset to our graphics program here in Hilton. I will miss their help and positive attitude."

Following the awards ceremony, students and teachers including Mr. Hindmarch and Tait Loe, they toured the new digital imaging lab at R.I.T. Phuong and Trieu received printing supplies, a certificate and a monetary award. Phoung plans on attending college for engineering, but "graphics is a close second choice." His brother, Trieu, is currently doing a co-op at Flower City Printing in Rochester and plans on continuing to work there until entering Monroe Community College in the fall with a transfer to R.I.T. School of Printing.
