Weber, Hare resign Brockport posts

Brockport Building Inspector/Assessor Bill Weber has resigned from his position effective next month. A 24-year village employee, Weber has accepted a position with Ontrac Equipment.

Also submitting his resignation at the June 18 village board meeting was Planning Board Chairman Tom Hare. A 12-year veteran of the planning board, Hare asked not to be reappointed at the annual organization meeting in July.

In other business from the June 18 board meeting: Weber reported that two developers have notified the village that they will be seeking approval for new subdivisions. One site is the remaining 50 acres of the Northrup farm on East Avenue (part of the farm is now in the planning process for subdivision by Don Hibsch). The developer would like to build 140 homes to the east of Hibsch’s proposed subdivision. On West Avenue, a developer is interested in purchasing vacant land owned by Max Farash and constructing 200-250 new homes. A planning board public hearing on the Hibsch subdivision will be reopened on July 9, according to Hare. There will also be a SEQR determination on the Hibsch project that evening, Hare said.

The board voted to name the police station at 1 Clinton Street after former police chief Donald Hare who recently passed away.

The next information meeting regarding the establishment of a municipal utility is scheduled for July 17 at 7 p.m. at the village hall.
