Annual Golden Retriever show to be held in Hamlin
Annual Golden Retriever show to be held in Hamlin

Golden retriever dogs and their owners and trainers will come from several states and Canada to compete in conformation classes and obedience competitions. Prizes will be presented to the best golden retriever dogs in several classes beginning at 7 a.m. on July 6 at the Firemen's Field in Hamlin. The show will last all day.

At noon there will be a parade of rescued golden retrievers from the local area. These 11 dogs were adopted to local homes by the work of GROWLS, a non-profit group dedicated to saving Golden Retrievers. Some of the proceeds from the Golden Retriever specialty show will be donated to the GROWLS group. During the parade, each dog's story will be read and the dog will receive a rosette ribbon.

The show is sponsored by the Golden Retriever Club of Western New York. Food will be available for purchase. Vendors of dog-related products will also participate in the event.
