Pastor Walter T. Steenson

Hilton Baptist Church
welcomes new pastor

Pastor Walter T. Steenson has been called to minister to the people of Hilton Baptist Church and community. He will be in the pulpit on Sunday, August 5, offering his first sermon and sharing communion for the first time, as pastor of the Hilton Baptist Church family.

Pastor Steenson comes to Hilton from North Kingston, Rhode Island. He and his wife, Lori, along with their son, Christopher, 13, and daughter, Robin, 8, will move into their new home on Parma View Drive at the end of July.

Pastor Steenson has an MDIV from Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Center, Massachusetts, and a BA from Eastern Nazarene College, Wollaston, Massachusetts. He has been an ordained American Baptist Minister since 1982 and has served in churches in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. According to members of the congregation, Pastor Walter is unique in the fact that he has many opportunities to minister to yet another group of people as a chaplain in the Rhode Island Army National Guard, and he plans to continue this ministry in the Rochester Branch.

The Steenson family is Christ-centered To quote the pastor, "I am deeply committed to my family. My wife, Lori, and I care deeply about our Sunday School and church fellowship, as well as our schools and community and seek to keep things balanced and Christ-centered while modeling a positive family life for others."
