Spencerport Chamber of Commerce
seeks website volunteers

The Spencerport Area Chamber of Commerce recently registered the Internet domain name www.spencerportchamber.org as the first step in developing a Spencerport community website. The Chamber is confident that this website will become the online portal for information about Spencerport and Ogden for both residents and visitors. Some of the information that will be available on the site includes current and upcoming events, a business directory, a human services directory, tourist information, a community bulletin board, and links to existing web resources for local government, news, schools, and local history.

In order to get the site up and running, the Chamber is seeking volunteers to help with content development and some programming tasks. Volunteers are needed for collecting information, writing articles, and taking photographs. A volunteer with web programming experience is needed for creating and maintaining the community bulletin board and developing other interactive features for the site.

Those who wish to volunteer and/or those who wish to find out more about this project are invited to attend an informational meeting scheduled for Saturday, July 14 at 1 p.m. at the Ogden Farmers' Library. Anyone unable to attend this meeting but who still wants to volunteer, can contact Patty Uttaro at 352-2141 or uttaro@ogdenny.com.
