GCC receives approval for four new programs

Genesee Community College has received approval from the New York State Education Department to add four new degree and certificate training programs that address growing regional employment needs. The two-year Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program in Sports Management Studies is a transfer program that provides an educational foundation for students who will move on to four-year degrees within the expanding health and recreational services fields. Also approved are three one-year certificate programs in Web Development, Database Support, and End User Support that will qualify students for growing employment opportunities in the information technology sector. All four of these programs are in employment areas where recent shortfalls in qualified applicants are expected to continue, on both a regional and national scale.

These programs of study bring the total number of certificate, career degree, and transfer programs offered by Genesee Community College to 57. Contact the Genesee Community College Admission Office at 345-6800 for more information and for an application to these or any of Genesee's academic programs.
