Hamlin seeks candidates for Board of Ethics

The Hamlin Town Board is seeking candidates for its three member Board of Ethics which was created by resolution at its meeting on June 11.

The Board of Ethics renders advisory opinions to officers and employees of the Town of Hamlin with respect to Hamlin's Code of Ethics. Such advisory opinions are rendered pursuant to specific written requests which may be made by the Town Board. All board members must keep all complaints, requests and its proceedings confidential. The board may, but is not required to, make recommendations as to the adoption of amendments to the Code of Ethics.

Board members are appointed by the Supervisor subject to confirmation by the town board. Members receive no compensation. One member must be a town official or employee, and two members may not have any other employment or position with the Town.

All applications must be filed at the Hamlin Town Hall no later than 4 p.m. on July 27. Candidates will be interviewed by the town board at the Town Hall at 7 p.m. on July 30.
