AREA

•DiPane, Frank, On July 15, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn; daughter, Carol Buczek; two granddaughters; one great grandson; sister, Antoinette Ercolano (Frank Sacheli). Mr. DiPane was an Air Force veteran of WWII, an active member of Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union and a member of Kings and Queens.

A Funeral Mass was held July 18 at St. Andrew's Church. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park. Memorials can be directed to St. Andrew's Church, 923 Portland Avenue, Rochester 14621.


•Howard, Jessie L., On July 12, 2001 at age 83. She was predeceased by her husband, Wendell H. Howard. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Lindsay; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services and interment in Fairfield Cemetery in Spencerport were at the convenience of the family.


ALBION

•McKenna, Alan J. Sr. "Bud" "AJ," Age 83, July 11, 2001. Predeceased by son, John R. (Kathy Ebbs); 10 brothers and sisters. Survived by wife of 60 years, Dorothy G. (Graczyk); children, Joan (Mark) Klafehn of Brockport, Alan McKenna Jr., Carol (Fred) Pilon, Susan (Gary) Kingsbury, Philip F. (Patty) McKenna, Judy (Gerald) Suhr all of Albion; 23 grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert McKenna of Wilson; nephew, Bruce E. Holliday and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prayers were said July 16 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc., Albion, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials can be made to C.O.V.A.


CHURCHVILLE

•Adams, Earl R., July 15, 2001 at age 56. He is survived by his wife, Linda B. Adams; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jeff Haynes of Gates; his brother, James (Gail) Adams of Chili; two sisters, Mildred (Ted) Briggs of Granville, and June (Bob) Hyder of Chili; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak and former Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Board for the Millseat Landfill.

A Memorial Service was held July 21 at Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Visiting Nurse Service Hospice in his memory.


HAMLIN

•Lemcke, Eloise H., At age 84, widow of Walter Lemcke. She is survived by her children, Dr. John Lemcke and Susan Lemcke; three grandchildren, John Schuster Jr., Heidi Schuster and Kathleen Gloss; three great grandchildren; several cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Schuster.

A private funeral service was held at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home Inc., Hilton. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. Those wishing can make contributions to St. John Lutheran Church General Fund in her memory.


•Wright, Orville, II, Ft. Myers, Florida formerly of Hamlin, July 10, 2001. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Wilma; three sons, Bruce (Kathy) of Kent, New York, Orville III of Wichita Falls, Texas, Brian (Cindy) of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilson of Florida and Richard of California; one sister, Thelma Ellis of Brockport.

He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Owner of Wright's Grocery in Brockport for 30 years.

Private services were held in Florida.


OGDEN

•Statt, Walter F., Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at age 82. Predeceased by his parents, Genevieve F. and Andrew L. Statt and sister, Marie West. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Velma L. (Hunt) Statt; daughter, Carol Jean (Charles H.) Grotke; brothers, Edward (Bernie), Raymond (Sally), John (Thelma), Joseph (Bobbie) Statt; sisters, Helen Fessel, Marion Carnee, Rita La Rose, Jane (David) Richardson, Jean (Francis) Troyon, Sr. Alma Caroline SSND; many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Walter was a veteran of WWII, a lifelong resident of Ogden and member of Holy Ghost Parish. He was a self employed ceramic tile contractor for over 40 years and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass was said July 7 at Holy Ghost Church. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the A.C.E. Unit (Adult Care Unit for the Elderly) at Highland Hospital, 1000 South Avenue, Rochester 14620.


SPENCERPORT

Bowman, Carolyn J., (Lee), At age 74, on July 17 in her home after a lengthy struggle with cancer. In addition to her professional career as a librarian, she was an accomplished puppeteer, story teller and speaker/leader for the international Christian Women's Clubs. She was an honors graduate of Jamestown High School, class of 1944. She graduated from Roberts Junior College (Now Roberts Wesleyan) and later received a bachelor of arts degree from Greenville College in Illinois. A master's degree in library science was awarded by SUNY Geneseo. She taught English in the Panama School District, Illinois, before turning her career to fulltime motherhood. She completed library training in 1969. She served as librarian at all levels in the public schools, including district wide coordinator, before returning to Roberts Wesleyan and the Ora Sprague Library, completing service there in 1991. She belonged to the New York State Library Association and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She served as area director for Christian Women's Clubs in the Buffalo area and most recently in Rochester. Church activities with youth and adults in Orchard Park and Pearce Memorial were always high priorities in her life. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Herman J.; two daughters, Lynn (William) of Connecticut, Jennifer (Steve) of Kentucky; three sons, Dr. Wayne (Kathy) of Texas, Scott (Clara) of Greece, James (Karen) of Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; and a cousin, Elaine Strong of New Jersey.

A Memorial Service was held on July 21 at Pearce Memorial Church, North Chili. Interment, North Chili Rural Cemetery.


•Rende, Connor Nicholas, Peacefully, July 10, 2001 at the age of 4 with the loving support of his family. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Heidi Rende; brothers, Mitchell and Samuel Rende; grandparents, Merlin and Dianne Reber, Nellie Cline; also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Private Inurnment will be held at North Chili Rural Cemetery at a later date. A Memorial was held July 13. Memorial donations can be made to P.I.C.U. at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester 14642 and Edgewood Free Methodist Church Building Fund, 250 Edgewood Avenue, Rochester 14618 in his memory.
