raise money for St. Jude's Hospital

For the second year in a row, Linda Smith's sixth-grade math students participated in the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Mathathon. The children were sponsored by relatives and friends, and then completed booklets of math problems. Together, the 13 students who participated raised $90. They also received prizes for their efforts. Erica Callahan received a portable compact disc player for raising $201 and Melissa Reed was given a cassette player for raising $185. Other students who contributed to this worthy cause were: Beth Miller, Emily Holland, Matt Banks, Matt Turner, Melissa Adams, Heather Hale, Shawn Iachetta, Sadie Flow, Nic Wharram, Tegan Leach and Nicole Rose.
