AREA

•Pengelly, Ethel W., formerly of N. Chili, died July 29, 2001. Mother of Thomas Pengelly and Jane McClelland. Also survived by five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Wife of the late J. Gordon Pengelly.

A Memorial Service was held August 3 in Seeley Chapel of Schwab Manor at Heritage Village, Route 60, Gerry, New York.


BROCKPORT

•Cannan, Ceclia, on July 26, 2001 at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Tony) Leoardi, Patricia Doohan, Judy Bohme and Joyce Lodato; grandson, Larry (Renee) Doohan; granddaughter, Nancy (John) Eckert; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Helen Bauman and Lill Minges.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.


Kame, Mary E. "Sandy", suddenly July 21, 2001 at the age of 54 in Wilmington, Delaware. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Kame of California and Carolyn (Don) Cole of Brockport; niece, Diane Cole of Rochester; nephew, Phillip (Lynn) Cole of Brockport; great nieces, Chelsey Cole and special friends, Carolyn and Robin Rigano, and Dena Nilsen.

A Memorial Mass was held August 4 at the Church of the Nativity B.V.M., Brockport. Contributions can be made to Christiana Hospital Cancer Research, P.O. Box 6011, Newark, Delaware 19718 in her memory.

•Smith, Edith E., July 26, 2001 at age 100, formerly of Chili. Predeceased by her husband, Alton. Survived by Arlene (Hamilton) Anderson, Clayton (Maryjane) Smith, Sylvia (Lennie) Willard, Jeffrey (Elaine) Salisbury, Douglas (Elizabeth) Salisbury, Thomas (Patty) Anderson.

A Funeral Service was held August 4 at Weeks Funeral Home, Warsaw. Interment Union Park Cemetery, Weathersfield. Donations can be made to Nazareth House, 814 Jackson Street, Stoughton, Wisconsin 53589 in her memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Fountain, Oswald E., formerly of East Rochester, on July 21, 2001. Survived by his children, Nadine A (Mark) Majewski, Philip R. Fountain, Joycemary Fountain; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his sister, Aletha Wemette of Keesville; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held July 28 at St. Jerome's Church. Contributions can be made to Lollypop Farm or to St. Jerome's Church Youth Group in his memory.

•Mitchell, Chad Edward on July 24, 2001 at the age of 18. He is survived by his beloved parents; mother, Debby (Paul) Swanger Jr.; father, John (Jeannie Davis) Mitchell; brother, John Mitchell Jr. "J.J."; sister, Breanna Mitchell; girlfriend, Stacee LaClair; maternal grandparents, Anna Maggard and Floyd Edward (Barb) Maggard; parental grandparents, William and Marion Mitchell; great-grandmother, Vera Mitchell; several aunts, uncles and cousins; many dear friends.

•Hoefen, Ronda J. (Parker), on July 25, 2001 at the age of 58. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael E. Hoefen; her devoted sons, Todd and Jeffrey Hoefen; her brother, Kim Parker; mother-in-law, Esther Hoefen; brothers and sisters-in-law, JoAnne (William) Camann and John (Michelle) Hoefen; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

HOLLEY

•Surowy, Jerry, on July 29, 2001, at the age of 52. He was born in Austria and moved to the United States when he was two years old. He was employed at Eastman Kodak as a Technology Support Technician. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Irene, and their children Sandra (Rob) Carroll, Stephen Surowy and Peter Surowy all of Holley. Also surviving are two grandsons; his mother, Maria Surowy of Rochester; two brothers, Walter (Joyce) Surowy of Irondequoit and Eugene (Linda) Surowy of Naples.

A Graveside Service was held at the Holy Cross Cemetery on August 1. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Clarendon Ambulance in his memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Fogarty, Myrtle B., July 24, 2001 at age 85. She was predeceased by her son, Richard. She is survived by her husband of 65 years James B. Fogarty; two sons, Ronald (Sharon) Fogarty of Gates and John (Janet) Fogarty of Rochester; two daughters, Patricia Cochrane of Charlotte and Loretta (Charles) Schultz of Penfield; her daughter-in-law, Marie Fogarty of Hilton; three sisters, Anna (Earl) Hutchinson of Rochester, Nellie (Adrian) Vandertang of Spencerport and Gladys Stenzel of Hamlin; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held July 28 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment, Parma Corners Cemetery. Contributions can be made to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), 1210 Jefferson Road, Rochester 14623 in her memory.
