Entertainers set feet a tapping … and dancing

Get out your dancing shoes, the Churchville Lions Country Fair has a great line-up of music this year and a brand-new dance floor to go with it.

Entertainment Chair Bernie Rabideau said with the oldies band playing for four hours Saturday night the dance floor seemed like it would be a great new addition. "We add something every year," she said.

The line-up is similar to last year's with the parade marching through the village Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. to kick everything off. The Wild Rose Horse Drill Team will perform at the fairgrounds after the parade.

Roscoe the Court Jester and Friends will be making their first appearance at the fair this year, entertaining the kids for a few hours each day with balloons and face painting

The Johnny Bauer Band, billing themselves as "bridging the gap of traditional and modern-style music … something for everyone with good, clean fun," will perform from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The "Used Guys" oldies band "feel-good brand of classic rock of the '50s, the '60s and the '70s" takes the stage for a dance party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday night, Rabideau said.

New to the fair this year are the Fiddlesticks Fiddling, fiddlers from the Genesee Country Museum, onstage from 8 to 9 p.m. Rabideau said she expects the fiddlers to be a good fit with the fair. The fireworks will cap the night.

On Sunday, Steve Valvano & Friends play from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and country singer Julie Dunlap headlines from 2 to 5 p.m..

At 5 p.m. the entertainment shifts to the person on the loudspeaker as the raffle tickets are drawn and everyone hopes to walk away a big winner in the $10,000 cash giveaway.
