Springdale Farm debuts maze August 20

A new cornfield maze will open August 20 at Springdale Farm, 696 Colby Street, Spencerport, with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year's theme is "Escape from Egypt." Maze-goers can maximize their abilities as individuals or in groups to master the maze and learn about Egypt and Egyptian agriculture as kernels of information are picked up along the trail. The maze will have 10,000 feet of pathways cut through 300,000 cornstalks. On grand opening day, visitors can also visit Springdale's signature petting zoo with miniature horses and free hay wagon rides with the purchase of a corn maze admission ticket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Regular hours for the cornfield maze are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After Labor Day, visitors can do the maze on Flashlight Friday and Saturday Nights until 10 p.m. and fall pumpkins to be available for purchase. Admission is $7 for those age 13 and older and $5 for children ages 4-12. Groups of 20 or more are eligible for discounts. Also, discounts are available at all area Wegmans and Tom Wahl's Restaurants.
