Hilton team posts positive season

The Hilton Heat U15 girls team is comprised of 13, 14 and 15 year-olds from the village of Hilton, town of Parma and Greece. Having been together for several years, players and their families have grown together as teammates and/or friends who commonly share the passion for the game of soccer.

Building a successful team takes time and effort. After a disappointing two-win league season in 1999 Division 1, the girls were determined to only look forward and turn that around.

That effort was rewarded in the 2000 season (10-2-0) when they secured second place in Division 2. Always striving to improve, the team cautiously tiptoed back into Division 1 with the desire of achieving at least six wins for the league season and more importantly 12 fun-filled games.

The Hilton Heat U-15 girls team proudly concluded the 2001 soccer season with a 9-2-1 record of competitive fun, incredible teamwork and spirit.

Under the direction of Coaches Steve Accordo and Graham Hyland, the team worked hard to improve skills individually and as a team throughout the winter months in preparation for the outdoor season. Half way through the season they achieved their 2001 goal. The league competition was fierce, but the momentum simply could not be stopped.

As challenging as the opponents were, the girls fared well in all the tournaments they participated in. At the conclusion of the championship game at the Lancaster tournament, one of the Lancaster Tournament directors who observed the game complemented the team and their spectators for the sportsmanship and class demonstrated throughout the tournament.
