Murray awarded rural development funds

The Town of Murray has been awarded a $775,000 low-interest loan under the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program. The Town of Murray will use the funds to construct a new 6,000 square foot town hall, which will house the town's offices and meeting and conference rooms.

"These funds will give the Town of Murray a significant helping hand in its efforts to construct a new town hall," said Congressman John LaFalce. "Programs such as Rural Development are essential to ensuring that the unique needs of rural communities are met."

USDA's Rural Development program helps the people of rural America develop sustainable communities and improve their quality of life by supporting essential public facilities and services, promoting economic development by providing loans to businesses, offering technical assistance and information to agricultural cooperatives, and supporting various community empowerment programs.
