Choreographer/Composer Concert, October 6

The fourth annual collaboration concert between four local composers and nine local choreographers will be held October 6 at 7:30 a.m. at Roberts Wesleyan College.

Paul Stuart, the musical director, has received world acclaim for his compositions including the operas Kill Bear Comes Home and The Little Thieves of Bethlehem. Annette Stolberg has composed for local events, private commissions plus productions at the J.C.C. Jack Edward Smith has combined a career as a singer, performer of Spanish Guitar and composer. Ricardo Ramierz has entertained in Rochester for over 20 years as a performer, dancer and composer. Thomas Warfiled has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, is Director of Peace Art International and is presently Director of Dance at RIT's NTID. These four composers will perform their original compositions for this concert.

The 10 choreographers (Cayla Allen, Lorene Benson, Judy Bronson, Katie Enright, Patty Flowerday, Krista Reeves, Marilyn Schneider, Shawna Streb, Dena Barrett and Cynthia Cannon) represent the diversity of dance in Rochester as each of the four compositions will be interpreted by two different choreographers, who will be using their own dancers. Tap, ballet, jazz, modern, "wheelchair" dance, lyrical and interpretive dance will be represented.
