Sweden hears tower proposal

Sprint PC outlined its plans to construct a 150 feet tall cell tower at 6615 Redman Road before the Sweden Town Board on September 25. The monopole would be built on land owned by Anneliese Steele.

The Sweden board posed several questions to Sprint representatives that it wants answered before granting approval. Among those questions include proof that a 150 feet tall tower is necessary – that a shorter tower wouldn’t suffice; what other plans for towers in the town does Sprint anticipate; and how the Monroe County Planning Boards concern for wetlands in the area be addressed.

The town expects to discuss the proposal at workshops in the future.

In other business from the September 25 meeting: Discussed what action might be taken on behalf of West Sweden Road residents on whose properties the Village of Bergen has begun condemnation proceedings.
