Republican and Conservative registered voters in the Town of Clarkson turned out on the Tuesday, September 25 rescheduled Primary Day and cast their votes for supervisor and town justice positions.

Incumbent Paul Kimball, who is wrapping up his 18th year as supervisor, garnered 406 Republican votes and 7 Conservative. He defeated town board member Christa L. Filipowicz, who received 276 Republican. Filipowicz received 13 Conservative votes. All votes are unofficial tallies.

"I'm overwhelmed by the results," Kimball said. "I'm pleased with the fact that the people are obviously happy with the direction in which I have been leading the town."

Allyn S. Hammel, a recently retired Gates Police Officer, received 443 Republican votes and 11 Conservative votes in his first bid for public office. He is running for Town Justice. His opponent, Cynthia T. Chassé, picked up 209 Republican and eight Conservative votes. This is Hammel's first attempt at running for public office following his 32 years on the police force, he said. Chassé is Clarkson's GOP committee chairman and had the committee endorsement. "I thank everyone who came out and exercised their privilege to vote in support of the American spirit of this country," Hammel said. "I hope to continue the high standards that have been set forth in this judicial system for the next four years."
