Hamlin Lions sponsor poster contest for youths

Hamlin area youngsters ages 11-13 years as of November 15, 2001 are invited to participate in the Lions Club International's Peace Poster Contest. The Hamlin Lions Club, through the Hamlin Recreation Department, sponsors this free program.

Participants will create a poster reflecting the theme "Lighting the Path to World Peace" during sessions at the Hamlin Town Hall, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20 and 27. (Participants attend one or both sessions in order to complete the poster).

Poster paper, crayons, pens, markers, paints and chalk are provided.

Each participant can submit only one entry that is their original work. Judging by the Hamlin Lions Club will take place later this year. The winner will receive a $50 Savings Bond and advance to the district level. All entries will be displayed at the town hall.

A list of general rules and regulations are available at the Hamlin Recreation Office. Call 964-7222 for information.
