Hamlin residents invited to star party
Hamlin residents invited to star party

The Astronomy section of the Rochester Academy of Science is hosting a free public viewing on Wednesday, October 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The viewing will take place at Northampton Park (near the ski lodge) on Hubbell Road off Rt. 31 in Ogden. The residents of Hamlin are invited to join them on this outing.

View galaxies, gaseous nebulae and star clusters with members of the local astronomy club. Come to the park to view these deep sky objects through the member's telescopes. No equipment is needed, but if you want to learn how to better use your own telescope, bring it along. Dress warm, as evenings may be very chilly.

This event will be held only if the skies are clear. If cloudy on October 17, the club will try again on October 18. For information call Jim Seidewand at 723-6225. Another viewing may be offered in the spring or summer through Hamlin Recreation. Anyone interested can call 964-7222.
