Harmony XXII to benefit National MS Society

Harmony XXII will bring to Webster and surrounding communities an evening of musical entertainment, designed to please the ears of young and old. The Melo-Wives of Webster and the Rochester Saenger Chor originated this event in 1979, giving the community a concert annually for 22 years. These two groups have been joined through the years by the Eastman Kodak Total Sound and the Hilton Baptist Church Choirs. The Webster Schroeder High School Jazz Choir has been invited for the fifth year to make a guest appearance.

The Hilton Baptist Church Choirs, this year's host, is directed by Betty Benoir. This year's choir will consist of a few members from each of the choirs. They sing at their worship services, outreach activities and functions during the Christmas season. Their repertoire consists of both religious and contemporary songs.

The Eastman Kodak Total Sound, under the direction of Kris Ohman, blend their male and female voices in four part harmony. They have performed for the Veterans Hospital, nursing homes, fraternal organizations, church groups and benefit concerts.

The Melo-Wives of Webster, under the direction of Betty Folger, have been providing musical entertainment in three part harmony for numerous organizations, nursing homes and at benefit concerts throughout the area for the past 34 years. They performed at the New York State Fair in August for the 14th year.

The Rochester Saenger Chor, also under the direction of Folger, blend their male and female voices in German and English songs. They perform locally at nursing homes, at a variety of organizations and annually host their popular Mardi Gras. The Saenger Chor, Melo-Wives and "Friends" will join in a musical number.

The Webster Schroeder High School Jazz Choir is under the direction of Bob Frost. During the school year they perform at school concerts, various local organizations and this past spring competed with other jazz choirs in New York City and came home with the gold.

The evening will include performances by each group and by a combined mass chorus.
