Rangers lose to Penfield

"It was an embarrassment. We stayed with them in the second half last time we played when we lost 3-1, but not this time." Those were the comments from Spencerport head boy's soccer coach Tom Etsler following a 5-0 drubbing versus defending Section Five champions Penfield on October 2.

The Penfield Chiefs put three goals on the scoreboard in the first half including two in the first eight minutes of play. They then added two more in the second half - one in the 57th minute and another in the 83rd minute of play. The Rangers' best opportunity to score came in the second half when an Adam Hare shot went off the goalkeeper's hands, but dribbled just wide of the post.

The Chiefs had five different goal scorers and improved to 8-1-2 overall with the win.
