BOCES' Katherine Carman named Certified Workforce Development Professional

Katherine A. Carman has been named Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP). Carman has been an employment advisor at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Center for Workforce Development (CWD) for nine years. She works with adult students who are enrolled in the Center's full-time career training programs and counsels them on how to market their new skills for successful employment. In addition, she represents CWD at Rochester Works!, a partnership between businesses, government and community groups that provides job seekers with everything from training to career planning and counseling to skills assessment. Carman serves as an employment specialist at Rochester Works! where she provides counseling, job search activities and career training opportunities to the unemployed, underemployed and those seeking a career change.

"Katherine exemplifies the degree of professionalism and commitment to excellence that America needs if it is to continue to enjoy a world-class workforce," said NAWDP President Ed McCann. The CWDP recognizes the training, experience and expertise of professionals in the field in 12 areas of competency, including customer service, program management and technology.

Carman is a Chili resident.
