The Varsity and JV Girls Soccer teams from Spencerport High School presented a check for $5,000 to the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program of the University of Rochester Medical Center at the Third Annual "Thriving After Breast Cancer" seminar held at the Rochester Hyatt Regency on October 20.

As part of the continuing community service for Spencerport athletic teams, the girls soccer program held a charity golf tournament at Caledonia Country Club. The girls also sold "Memory Walk" certificates recognizing loved ones who lost battles with cancer, those currently battling cancer, and survivors of cancer. These certificates were displayed at the tournament and at the Rangers game during Senior Night.

The Rangers teams selected the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program as their charity because of the service it provides to the women in the Monroe County area. The Breast Cancer program provides individualized treatment, planning, and education combined with innovative research to help patients through the most difficult times in their battle with cancer. Their mission is to offer the best chance for survival and an enhanced quality of life. The Rangers saw this program as a vital resource to the women in their community and their families who have had to deal with the many challenges facing those afflicted with breast cancer.
