in statewide publications contest

On October 19, the New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) honored the winners of its 21st annual communications contest at a luncheon in Buffalo.

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Communications Specialist Jackie Finn received an Award of Honor for the feature article "Micro Society" and an Award of Merit for her bus driver photograph, both for the Churchville-Chili School District. Communications Specialist Mary Kay Glazer received Awards of Honor for the feature articles "Churchville-Chili Eighth Grade Engineers" and "Spencerport Differentiated Instruction." Glazer and Graphic Artist Kathy Kelly received an Award of Honor for the Spencerport School District Brochure. Kelly and Communications Specialist Grace Griffee received an Award of Excellence for the Kendall Central School District brochure. Communications Specialist Debbie Moyer received an Award of Honor for her photograph "Paula Crawford - Horses on Parade" for the Brockport Central School District. She and Kelly received an Award of Merit for the BOCES 2 Guide for Services. And Finn, Griffee, Moyer and Graphic Artist Marilee Whalen received an Award of Merit for The BOCES 2 Together newsletter for June 2001.

Nearly 650 entries were received from schools across New York state for this year's contest and just over one-third were awards winners. School communications professionals throughout the country judged the contest.
