Robert T. Whipple of Hilton, retired division manager, Color Film Finishing at Eastman Kodak Company, is serving as a member of the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science Advisory Board at Syracuse University.

The L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science Advisory Board supports the college's efforts to provide superior educational opportunities to its students. The full board meets twice a year on campus and individual members are called upon throughout the year for advice or to participate in college programs or planning initiatives. Members serve as advocates for the college and provide counsel and expertise in order to bring alumni, business leaders and other educators closer to the students and faculty of the college.


Sara Edeiken, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy S. Lincoln of Rochester, and a student at Hamilton College, recently performed in the play "Circling Alcestis."

A junior majoring in biochemistry at Hamilton, Edeiken is a graduate of Hilton Central High School.


Lifetouch National School Studios, Inc., a Minneapolis-based school photography company, has promoted Michael Antonio and Barbara Presler in the Pittsford office. Both Antonio and Presler have been serving as photographers to many of the over 400 local schools that Lifetouch services. Antonio, a Hilton High School graduate and former machinist with Apollo Tool and Die, Inc., has been promoted to sales representative. He will specialize in sports and special event photography. Antonio resides with his wife, Stephanie, and their sons, Dallas and Michael, in Churchville. Presler has been promoted to co-lead photographer. Her duties will include the oversight of a team of photographers, as well as training and photography development. Also a Churchville resident, Barbara resides with her husband, Ronald, and their children, Bradley, Julie and Michelle.


John R. Pedley of Holley is the newest member of the Lakeside Foundation Board of Directors. Pedley gained experience serving his community by being an active member of the Holley Rotary Club, serving as a board member and president of the Holley School Board, as Town Supervisor of Clarendon, and trustee on the Holley Library board. Pedley is the superintendent of the Pike Company.


Scott Fadner, son of Glenn and Rebecca Fadner of Ogden, has enlisted in the United States Army and will receive basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Fadner is a 1998 graduate of Charles G. Finney Corporate High School and has attended Elim Bible Institute, Lima.


John R. Cooper has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year. The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college education. Cooper will report for basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. His parents are John C. and Pamela K. Cooper of Bergen.


Army Pvt. William Armstead has graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Virginia. The student received instruction in receipt, storage, issue, shipping, and distribution of petroleum, oil and lubricant products used by the Army. He is the son of Virginia A. and stepson of Eugene T. Wade of Brockport.
