State approves Roberts Wesleyan's
new graduate program in teacher education

The New York State Department of Education has granted its approval of Roberts Wesleyan College's newly redesigned teacher education graduate programs. The program has been reconfigured to comply with new state-mandated requirements for teacher certification.

Like all New York state colleges and universities offering teacher education programs, Roberts Wesleyan was required to submit new programs to the State Education Department.

The college's Teacher Education Division will offer three graduate programs in January 2002, with two additional graduate programs commencing in May 2002.

In January, Roberts Wesleyan will offer professional masters programs in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) and Adolescence Education (grades 7-12), plus a second initial certification in Special Education for grades 1-6.

Next May, Roberts will initiate an Initial Childhood/Special Education Dual Certification Master Program (grades 1-6) and Initial Certification in Adolescence Master Program (grades 7-12).
