Students and teachers at the Village Elementary School, along with more than 25 visiting presenters, held a "Health Fair" last month which featured interactive ways students are made increasingly aware of the importance of personal and community health. Kevin Corcoran, Hilton Fire Department EMT, demonstrated the de-fibrillator to students, explaining its role in saving lives. Students were also involved in mini-workshops on character develop-ment; substance abuse prevention; healthy heart exercise; environmental and disability awareness; nutrition and dental health. Physical education teachers Pam Stadmiller, Shannon Ingles, Craig Gross and Bill Eaton organized the event for the school of 1,100 students.
