AREA

•Rodas, Charles W. "Chuck," Peacefully on December 9, 2001 in Deltona, Florida, at the age of 62, he was called home. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Rodas; his children, Laura (Milt) Shoup, Connie (John) Ulman, Ellen (Robbie) Bessinger and Jeffrey Rodas; six grandchildren; his brother, Gary (Cathy) Rodas; his sis-ters, Eleanor Jurs, Barb Corwin and Betty Knobloch; many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a service celebrating his life Saturday, December 22, at 11 a.m. at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc. Inurnment, Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin. •Donnan, Agnes V., On December 9, 2001, age 79. Wife of the late Douglas S. Donnan; mother of Bonnie (Thomas) Fatcheric of Fairport; grandmother of Christine Fatcheric of East Rochester; also survived by several cousins and special friends.

Services were held December 13 at the H.E. Turner Funeral Home, Bergen. Memorials can be made to Bergen Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, NY 14416 in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Ashton, Sgt. Roger P. Jr., Suddenly on December 7, 2001 at the age of 37. He is survived by his son, Dakota, of Greece; his mother and father, Anita and Roger Ashton, Sr. of Arizona; sisters, Gidget (Tom) Cond of Brockport, Erica Ashton and Tina (Craig) Ashton-Ginsberg of Arizona; mother of his son, Elizabeth; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services were held December 14 at the First Baptist Church of Brockport. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Donations can be made to Dakota's College Fund, c/o Roger Ashton Sr., 300 East Aspen Way, Gilbert, Arizona 85234.


•Anderson, Robert William "Pops," Formerly of London, Ontario, Canada. Called home to our sweet Lord on Friday, December 7, 2001 at the age of 63. Survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Jo Ann "To"; beloved children, Kimberly (Bernard) Morse, Theresa Anderson and David (Anne) Anderson; his beloved grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Paige, Conor, Emily and Meghan; and many good friends.

A Funeral Mass was held December 12 at the Church of the Nativity, Brockport. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations can be made to American Heart Association.


•Christopher, Joseph A., age 92 died December 10, 2001 at his home. He was born in Ripabottoni, Italy and had lived in Brockport since 1956. He was a member of Church of the Nativity of the B.V.M. Predeceased by his wife, Nellie. Survived by seven children, Antonio Christopher of Italy, Maria Cappuccilli of Florida; Sister Raffaella Christopher of Italy, Carmella Coccitto of Brockport, Felice Battista Christopher, Pat Nisdeo of Brockport, Nina Christopher Interisano of Brockport; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held December 14 at Church of the Nativity of the B.V.M. Interment, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.


•Murphy, William B., In Naples, Florida on November 30, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Anne Galbo of Greece, David (Marie) of Indianapolis, William (Gina) of Bristol, Connecticut; six grandchildren; his sister, Mary Zarpentine of Spencerport.

A Memorial Mass was held December 14 at the Newman Oratory, Brockport. Friends can make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.


•Wolf, Ruth E., On December 8, 2001, suddenly at Rochester General Hospital. Mrs. Wolf was predeceased by her parents, Albert (Lillian Pfrommer) Blank Sr. and her husband of 55 years, John Wolf in February 2000.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Michelle) Wolf of Holley and Eileen Ryerse of Brockport; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Nancy, Wendy and Kevin and two great grandchildren, Alicia and Kayla; three brothers, Robert (Emma) Blank of California, Donald (Joanne) Blank of Holley and Albert (Patricia) Blank Jr. also of Holley and a sister, Dorothy Gosnell of South Carolina; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held December 15 at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Albion. Memorials can be made to the Kingdom Hall or The American Heart Society in her memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Hetzke, Ethel V. (Borgus), Thursday, December 6, 2001 at age 87. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold A. Borgus in 1978 and her husband Alfred W. Hetzke in 1998. She is survived by her children, Harold M. (Dorothy) Borgus, Dorothy (Robert) Austin and Kenneth (Ann) Borgus; her sister, Ruby Burling; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held December 11 at Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Interment, Riga Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Hospital Foundation, 156 West Avenue, Brockport, NY 14420 in her memory.


•Lyon, Daniel E., Friday, December 7, 2001 at age 94. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Lyon, in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Esther (Roberts) Lyon; his daughter Meredith (Jeffrey) Altman of Churchville and his granddaughter, Megan (Robert) Hoose of North Chili; several nieces and nephews. He was past president of the NYS Rural Letter Carriers Association and was a member for many years of the Christian Business Men's Committee.

Funeral Services were held December 10 at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, North Chili. Inter-ment will be in Utica, NY at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Pearce Memorial Church or to Roberts Wesleyan College in his memory.


CLARKSON

•Gifford, Eugene Robert, Former NY resident, Gene Gifford, died November 23, 2001 at age 75 in Portland, Oregon. Born in Clarkson, he moved to West Virginia with his parents, H.R. and Mercy, after graduation where he worked as a strip miner before entering the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Married Margaret Kostelac in 1949; sister of Anne K. Triplett of Clarksburg, West Virginia. Also survived by his children, Gail, Doug and Carol of Portland, seven grandchildren, brother H. Raymond Gifford and sisters, Ruth Magill and Joyce Patton of NY.


SPENCERPORT

•Gross, Joseph, December 9, 2001. Predeceased by his wife, Lucille. Survived by his wife, June; his sons, Gary, Daryl (Maryellen), Alan, Brian, Terry Gross; his daughters, Sheryl (Robert) Drago, Cindy (Mark) Wurzer, Michelle, Lucille (James) Koontz, MaryBeth, Kerry Jean, Tommy Vazquez, Joan (James) Todd; step-daughters, Karen (David) Chamberlin, Wendy Cornell; stepson, Kenneth Griffith; many grandchildren, dear relatives, and friends.

Joe was a WWII Army/Air Force Veteran. He retired from the B&O and Kodak Railroad. He was the author of many railroad books, including Railroads of North America. He was a member of the Etolian Lodge, F.& A.M. #479, Key Lock & Lantern

A Funeral Mass was said December 12 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Spencerport. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hepatitus Intl. Foundation, 30 Sunrise Terrace, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009 in his memory.


•Zukaitis, Nellie M., Saturday, December 8, 2001 at age 89. She is survived by two brothers, Paul Zukaitis of Hilton and Victor (Patricia) Zukaitis of Spencerport; several nieces and nephews. Nellie was a registered nurse, and retired in 1970 as the principal of the School of Nursing at Willard State Hospital, following 36 years in the professional fields of nursing and education.

A Funeral Mass was said December 11 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
