Logsdon leads Holley Hawks

Junior Lauren Logsdon scored 28 points and added six steals as the Holley Hawks defeated Kendall 57-52 in girl's basketball December 10. Logsdon's offensive output brought her to within fourteen points of becoming the all-time leading scorer in Hawks history, a record held for now by Jamie Bonner who graduated in 1994.

Leading 22-11 after the first quarter, the Hawks allowed Kendall back into the game and led by just three points at halftime. The Eagles would take the lead twice briefly in the third quarter before the Hawks pulled ahead to stay. After Kendall closed to within one point in the fourth quarter, Holley scored three of the final four baskets to win.

Tiffany Sander had 9 points for Holley and Ariana Cuadrado and Amber Young each added 8 points to the attack. Lindsay Rodas led Kendall with 20 points. Kristina Lynch scored 17 and Kristina Gaylord added 9 points. Holley head coach Kyle Walter Jacque said the key to the win was "Renee Catlin when we switched to a box-and-one defense. She was matched with their scorer (Rodas) and led us with nine rebounds as well."

The Hawks improved to 3-0, their best start since 1998-99.
