Greece-Olympia High School has been chosen as the site for the Rochester Cheer Classic, a Cheer LTD. CANAM 2002 Qualifier to be hosted by the Greece-Olympia High School cheerleaders. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 5. Cheerleading and dance teams from across the state are invited to compete for a bid to the CANAM 2002 International Cheer and Dance Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 15-17, 2002.

Valerie Snelgrove will coordinate the regional event, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Nationally-certified judges will score the teams competing in thirty-three divisions from pee wee through high school varsity and including all-stars.

Individual cheerleaders, dancers, and partner stunt teams may also choose to compete for a bid to the 2002 International Cheerleader Championships, 2002 International Dancer Championships and the 2002 International Partner Stunt Championships, held in conjunction with the CANAM 2002 International Cheer and Dance Championships.
