Bright Raven gymnasts compete in Graffiti Invitational

Bright Raven Gymnastics brought home three team banners and many individual honors competing among 24 teams at the 2002 Graffiti Invitational held January 4-6 at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.

The Level 5 team took the second place team banner with Amber Kober of Ogden capturing first all around (35.60) in the 12 and over age division. Amber was also first on beam (8.85), first on the uneven bars (9.40) and second in vault (8.65). Lindsey Paladino of Chili took first place in floor exercise (9.00). Maura Wojak of Chili was second on beam (8.85). Other Bright Raven gymnasts contributing to the team effort included Erin Kolb, Amanda Arcieri, Katie Kisher, Allison Grove and Maura Donovan of Chili, Amanda Clapper of Spencerport, Breanna Fischer of Gates, Alyssa Kober of Ogden, Sherilyn DiRoma of Hilton, Kara Golis and Bethany Ayers of Churchville, Kelly MacCracken and Gina Mattioli of Greece, Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit and Danielle Peruzzini of Brockport.

The Level 6 team finished in third place with Kim Golis of Churchville earning first all around (33.90) in the 15 and over age division. Kim also won first place on floor exercise (8.575), first on beam (8.40) and second on bars (8.50). Cori Earls of Henrietta placed third all around (32.225), second on floor (8.125) and second on beam (8.35). Sara D'Angio of Pittsford won first place on vaulting (8.90). In the 12-14 age division, Julie Mingoea of Spencerport took second all around (35.925), second on floor (9.05) and first in vaulting with a high score of 9.60. Other Level 6 gymnasts included Sabrina Hill of Hamlin, Megan Seuffert of Gates and Amanda Westcott of Brockport.

Bright Raven's Level 4 team also placed third with Emily Gutknecht of Rochester winning first all around (36.625) in the 12 and over age division. Emily was also first in floor (9.10) and second on beam (9.10). Cassie Dean of Churchville placed third all around (35.825 and was first on beam (9.30). Natalia Filip of Gates was third in both bars (8.90) and beam (9.05). Kristina Wolf of Hilton placed second on floor (9.075) and third in vault (9.60). Ashley Miles of North Greece took third on floor (9.05). Olivia Ferrauilo of Greece and Kyle Holly of Chili also competed as members of the Level 4 team.
