Verizon All-America Team

SUNY Brockport junior women's soccer goalkeeper Mary Maslanka (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) has been named to the 2001 Verizon District I All-Academic College Division Women's Soccer Team.

Maslanka has excelled in the classroom as well as on the soccer field. She currently holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.82 while majoring in history and secondary education and minoring in coaching.

On the field, Maslanka posted an impressive goals-against-average of 0.94 with a 12-5-1 record. She allowed just 17 goals in 18 games for the season. She finished with an .868 save percentage. playing in over 1,600 minutes for the year. Maslanka also was honored on the All-SUNYAC, NYSWCAA All-State, and NSCAA/Adidas All-American teams this past season.

The Verizon All-America team is voted on by Sports Information Directors form all NCAA and NAIA divisions. With the selection to the district first-team, Maslanka will advance to the Verizon Academic All-America national ballot.
