The Town of Parma will be hosting Snowfest on Saturday, February 2 at Parma Town Park from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Any lack of snow will not be a problem according to Steve Fowler, Director of Recreation & Parks. "Our department has planned a fun-filled afternoon of many winter activities which will be adjusted based on weather conditions."

All organized activities are free to the public and will be available during this three-hour winter celebration.

The public is invited out for snowmobile rides, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, horse-drawn wagon rides, kid-style carnival games, dog sled demonstration, several other winter activities. Shirley "Sparky" Hess also will be on hand to share her story of being selected to carry the Olympic Torch this past year. A fireworks display at 6:45 p.m. will fill the frosty sky.

Offering the family-style event during the late afternoon and adding fireworks will hopefully attract a greater number of patrons who will enjoy the park amenities, Fowler said. Hot and cold food items will be available for purchase, with all funds collected going to the Hilton boys baseball organization.
