United Way of Eastern Orleans board members elected

United Way of Eastern Orleans held their annual meeting January 28 to elect officers and members to the Board of Directors and to recognize companies supporting the United Way/Red Cross Campaign.

In addition to the election of board members, local companies were presented awards in recognition of their support of the 2002 United Way/Red Cross Campaign.

Michael Massaro, 2001 United Way Board Chair, presided over the election of new officers and members. Elected as board officers for 2002 were: Rev. Frank Nichols, chair; Kathy Marnell, vice-chair; Lyndon Billings, secretary; Michael Massaro, treasurer.

Elected to serve as board members were: Casey Calabria and Robbi Hess, each serving a one-year term. Elected to serve a three-year term were Adrienne Daniels, Rebecca Dillenbeck, Gerald Golden, Debbie Heuer, Jerome Pawlak and Cathy Renko.

Michael Massaro, on completing his term of office as 2001 board chair, was presented with a plaque honoring him for service on United Way of Eastern Orleans' board of directors and to the community.

The 2002 United Way/Red Cross Campaign was successful in raising $141,314 for area health and human services. The campaign chair was Lee Minier, vice president of Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes.
