Upgrades and almost daily updates are part of the package of the Kendall Central School website.

While Kendall has had a web page for close to three years, now, thanks to the efforts of kindergarten teacher Mary Hastings, it is more user-friendly and more fully highlights the district and its events.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael O'Laughlin said Hastings has coordinated the whole website. "She has done an excellent job of keeping it current and making it interesting," he said.

O'Laughlin said no one had ever taken an interest in updating the site until Hastings took on the project. "She has put a lot of energy into it and has an interest in keeping it updated," he said.

The site, www.monroe2boces.org/kendall/, lists teacher and student activities, a school homework page, library site and is full of photos and other information including lunch menus and staff updates.

"Mary really brought the site to life," he said.

Hastings said her interest in the wesbsite grew following a web page building course she participated in. "I took the course because I wanted to build a website for my family," she said.

Once she learned the ins and outs of web page design, she said she set up a classroom web page. The project grew from there, she said, as the other kindergarten teachers wanted their own web pages. "From there it went to the sixth grade then to the high school," she said.

Kendall's website has a photo page that highlights school field trips and other in-school activities.
