A donation of approximately $8,000 was made to the American Cancer Society by the Spencerport boys basketball all program.

The donation represents the net proceeds of Spencerport's Coaches vs Cancer Christmas Classic basketball tournament held December 27 and 28 at Nazareth College.

A check will be presented to the American Cancer Society at a 7:45 p.m. pre-game ceremony on February 6 at the Churchville-Chili vs Spencerport boys basketball game.

The Coaches vs Cancer tournament is organized and administered by Spencerport boys' basketball coach, Michael Blackwell, Ranger players and coaching staff as part of its on-going volunteer community service commitment to the Spencerport Student-Athlete Care Program. The five year total of donations is now approximately $24,000. In addition, the boys' program conducts four one-week basketball camps annually as well as a Saturday morning instructional league for elementary children. They also volunteer annually with the "Hot Shot" program in Spencerport's elementary schools.
