Sweden residents are invited to participate in a Public Hearing held jointly by the Sweden Town Board and the Sweden Planning Board on Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 18 State Street, Brockport.

The project under consideration is the Crystal Ridge Planned Unit Development. The proposal involves the rezoning of approximately 311 acres of land south of Fourth Section Road and north of White Road, stretching from Lake Road on the east to Redman Road on the west. Plans include the construction of a total of 802 dwelling units, of which 192 are single family homes, 116 are townhouse units, 456 are apartment units, and 38 are senior housing units.

Development is proposed to occur in three phases over approximately 20 years beginning at the proposed extension of Shumway Road across Lake Road. The developer is Al Spaziano.

The planning board is considering the Environmental Impact of the project. The town board is considering the rezoning of the property from the current Residential Single Family zoning to Planned Unit Development zoning.

Sweden residents can make comments on the proposal at the public hearing or submit written comments to the Planning Board, P.O. Box 366, Brockport, NY 14420. Written comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2002.
