Sweden information and news is on-line

The Town of Sweden recently launched its own local government website, providing residents and visitors with user-friendly access to town officials, records and documents, and up-to-date news.

Sweden was one of several local governments that participated in the Digital Towpath E-Government program sponsored by Niagara Mohawk. Communities once linked by the Erie Canal Towpath can now be linked with their constituents digitally through the E-Government program. The program allows municipalities to improve efficiency by offering information on-line.

Found on Sweden's website is information about assessments, job openings, committees and boards, the court system, departments, minutes, permits and licenses, copies of local laws and how to contact elected officials.

Deputy Clerk Marleen Cain manages the website. She keeps calendar listings, news items, and all other information current. A brief history of Sweden can be found on the site, along with a list of local churches and town park information.

The site also provides links to the Brockport Central School District, Seymour Library, SUNY Brockport, the Soldiers Tower Committee, Brockport Fire Department, Sweden Senior Center, Ledgedale Air Park, Monroe County, New York State, and the United States government.
