Hilton School District to perform
Harris Interactive survey

The Hilton School District will survey all parents of current K-12 students; staff members; and students in grades 4-12 in March 2002 to assess satisfaction in a number of areas. These areas include: equipment and facilities, computer technology, the school bus, communications involvement, your child's teacher, the administration of the school district, the principal/administration of your child's school, curriculum/training, budget/budget process, and overall satisfaction. Other issues, including school nursing; school counselors; school secretaries; safe environment; academics; physical activity programs; PTA/parent group meetings; and fairness of local media in covering the school, will be surveyed.

The survey is anonymous and serves to maintain focus on continuous improvement as called for in the district's Excellence in Student Learning Strategic Plan, a plan coordinated by Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Cooper. The survey is designed by Harris Interactive, Inc. of Rochester and is expected to take place about March 19, 2002. Michael Battaglia, Director of Administrative Services, is coordinating the survey.

Results will be made available to the entire district, staff and students in the fall, according to Battaglia. The results are used by district administration to make improvements to the district's programs and facilities. Questions may be directed to Battaglia at 392-1000 ext. 7047.
