'Before' Tours offered for Hinchey Homestead

At the request of many community members, the Gates Historical Society now the owners of the Hinchey Homestead at 634 Hinchey Road, will offer 'before' tours of the home on the weekend of March 16 and 17.

Tours will last about one hour and are limited to eight people per tour; adults and children over 10 years. Tours are offered on both Saturday and Sunday at 12:00, 1:30, and 3 p.m. (The home is not yet handicapped accessible). Tour admission is $5 per person with a $4 rate for seniors 62 and older and for full-time students.

The society is in the process of converting this 13 room 19th century home into a community museum. Attendees will hear about the society's plans for the conversion.

The society welcomes volunteers to assist with the process of conversion. Donations are accepted. An online donation form and a membership form can be found on the society's web page www.gateshistory.org.
