Reward offered for information on
sign damage

It's more than village property that was damaged in front of the Emily L. Knapp Historical Museum. It was a sign that held sentimental meaning for Brockport Village Trustee Norman Knapp.

On the weekend of February 10, Knapp's daughter noticed the sign was shattered. A police report has been filed, he said, but at this point there are no suspects.

"My mother put a lot of time and toil and love into the museum," Knapp said. "It's unfortunate that someone would have to go and do something like this but it's even more difficult because it was my mom's namesake."

Knapp is offering a personal reward for the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for the damage to the sign.

A special section in the museum and the sign were dedicated in June 1999, he said.

Anyone with information regarding the vandalism is asked to contact the Brockport Police Department at 637-1011.
