Hamlin-Clarkson Herald receives
Knights of Columbus Good Neighbor Award

The Hamlin-Clarkson Herald, a Westside News Inc. publication, was awarded the Knights of Columbus Good Neighbor Award. This award is presented to area media for maintaining a family-oriented publication and for their efforts in rejecting advertising for adult book stores and video stores. This ward was initiated by Finger Lakes Chapter President and State Chairman for Decent Media Michael Flanagan of Spencerport and assisted in the Rochester Diocese by Finger Lakes Decent Media Chairman Patrick Murry of Chili.

The inscription reads "Knights of Columbus 11740 Council proudly recognizes the staff of the Hamlin-Clarkson Herald with our Good Neighbor Award. This award is in recognition for the excellent job your newspaper does in publishing a paper that respects the values that most families strive to teach their children. You make our job as parents less difficult in restricting the stories and advertisements to those that parents would not find objectionable for anyone regardless of his or her age. Thank you for being a good neighbor. Daniel F. Korn, Grand Knight January 2002."
