United Way of Greater Rochester announces the appointment of Lucine M. Kauffman as Regional Coordinator for Genesee and Eastern Orleans Counties. As regional coordinator, she will be responsible for coordinating the fundraising efforts of the annual appeal, training volunteers, educating the community on the good things United Way is doing, and working with volunteer boards to identify and address community needs.

Kauffman joined United Way on February 25, 2002 after working at Batavia High School since 1990. "Lucine is very involved in the Genesee County community and serves on several non-profit boards of directors," said Rufus Agnew, United Way of Greater Rochester Senior Vice President for Regional Operations and Leadership Development. "Her volunteer experiences and knowledge of the community will be a great complement to our regional staff team."

She is a past president of the Landmark Society of Genesee County; current vice president of the Wednesday Study Club; chairman of the Village of Elba Planning Board; a member of the Richmond Memorial Library's "Books Sandwiched In" planning committee; and a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Elba.
