Cindy Jean Shackelford is currently attending MCC and majoring in fine arts. She has been named to the dean's list with a 3.28 GPA. She is the daughter of John and Shirley Shackelford and is a 2001 graduate of Brockport High School.


Allison Roether, daughter of Sandra and Jerald Roether of Churchville, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the State University College at Geneseo.


Amy Elizabeth Annechino has been named to the president's honors list for the fall 2001 semester at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.

Annechino, a junior majoring in environmental studies, resides at Ryans Run, Rochester.


The following local residents have received academic honors for the fall 2001 semester at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.

•Michael David Sanger was named to the president's honors list. Sanger, a freshman majoring in paper science and engineering, resides at Clarkson Parma Town Line Road, Hilton.

•Timothy Frederick Tresohlavy was named to the president's high honors list. Tresohlavy, a junior majoring in environmental studies, resides at Cambridge Road, Hilton.


Azusa Pacific University student Jonathan P. Gross of Spencerport made the academic dean's list at APU for the fall 2001 semester. He is a Biblical studies major.


Sixteen young pianists from the studio of Jennifer Sturman of Spencerport performed in the New York State Federation of Music Clubs Festival this year.

All students received superior honors and will be listed on the national honor roll. Students include: Emily Knox, Lindsay Knox, Julie Haring, Matthew Spezio, Phillip Spezio, Jessica Terrell, David Terrell, Stefanie Tornow, Kyle Bunker, Kimberly Bunker, Mallory Blackburn, Emily French, Lauren French, Megan Martin, Carley Youngman, and Beth Scarbrough.

Gold trophies for completing three years of Federation with superior ratings will be awarded this year to Mallory Blackburn, Julie Haring, Emily Knox, Beth Scarbrough, and Phillip Spezio.

A second gold trophy will be awarded to Stefanie Tornow and Matthew Spezio for completing six years of Superior rating at Federation.


Four Spencerport High School students were among the outstanding high school students recognized last month by SUNY College at Brockport President Paul Yu. He congratulated the 3-1-3 Program students for having been named to the dean's list at SUNY Brockport for the fall 2001 semester.

The freshmen honored from Spencerport High School were: Richard Coia, Jennifer Crist, Maryann Dennis, Katie Wyse.


Jason Dahlman, of Spencerport, a junior majoring in pre-med at Ashland University, has been named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the fall 2001 semester. He was inducted this past spring into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. He was Ashland's top biology/toxicology student for the year 2001. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hank Dahlman.

He competed March 9 in the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Massachusetts. He competed in the pole vault competition. His vault of 16 feet five inches ranked him third in the nation and an All American among Division II schools. Dahlman is a 1999 graduate of Aquinas Institute.


Heidi M. Grolemund, of Ridgefield Drive, Churchville, has been named to the dean's list for the winter quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A third-year student in the College of Liberal Arts, Grolemund is studying criminal justice.

Grolemund, daughter of Donald and Audrey Grolemund of Churchville, is a graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Ithaca College recently named the following students to the Ithaca College dean's list for the fall 2001 semester.
•Angela DeFelice, a planned studies major from Bergen;
•Shane Bordeau, a jazz studies major from Brockport;
•Amanda Ginovsky, majoring in performance/music education from Brockport;
•Sarah Schram, majoring in business administration, from Brockport;
•Darcie Schwarz, a drama major from Churchville;
•Mary Rogers, a sport studies major from Hamlin;
•Elaine Loggi, a performance/music education major from Hilton;
•Emily Liu, a journalism major from Spencerport.


The Ashland University wrestling team finished fourth at this year's NCAA Division II national championships, held March 8 and 9 at Wisconsin-Parkside. This year's finish ties the school's best-ever finish since becoming an NCAA Division II institution (in 1985 the Eagles also placed fourth).

Any wrestler who finished eighth or higher earned All-America.

Jason Dahlman (Spencerport/Aquinas Institute) placed third in the pole vault. His best effort topped out at 16-4.75. A year ago, Dahlman was ninth at nationals. This year, the junior is an All-America.


Patrick Hastings has been presented the #1 Sales Agent 2001 Award in the Chili-Ogden office. He has earned this award in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.

He also earned the Top 25 Club Award for 2001, presented only to Nothnagle's 25 most successful realtors, out of a company of over 500 agents.

Hastings has earned many awards during his 24-year career with Nothnagle. They include Salesmaster Gold, every year since 1998, by the Greater Association of Realtors for having closed 60 or more transactions in a 12-month period, and the Zenith Award by the Women's Council of Realtors. Hastings served as manager of one of the Nothnagle's local offices for five years, served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors and is a Notary Public. The lifelong Churchville resident has been licensed since 1978.


Dick Lippa, Associate Broker and 26-year real estate veteran for Century 21 Capital Realty, placed 13th in the region for the franchise in 2001. Lippa has been a top producer since 1977. He was inducted into the Century 21 Sales Master Club in 1999 and in 2001 was elevated to Ruby Level, which is the third highest honor in the franchise.

Other awards he has received include Century 21 Golden Flagship Award, Tri-State Top Listing Award, #1 Agent for Century 21 in Monroe County 1998, #1 Agent for Century 21 in Western Monroe County 1999.

Lippa has earned designations including GRI, VIP Relocation Designation, and Residential Specialist. He specializes in new and existing homes, foreclosures, and auctions.
