AREA

•Stanley, Robert Jr., March 21, 2002 at the Mary Immaculate Hospital at the age of 71. He was the son of the late Charles (Minnie Slade) Stanley and was born in Shallotte, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Annie (Hill) Stanley; their children, Brenda (Herbert) Winters of Albion, Annie Stanley Hamilton of Batavia, Mabeline Stanley of Batavia, Betty Parks of Albion and Robert Lee (Judith) Stanley of Batavia; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one brother, Simon (Willimena) Stanley; sister, Ruby Williams, both of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held March 27 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Interment Mount Albion Cemetery.


BROCKPORT

•Boyd, Dorothy F., Suddenly on March 16, 2002 at age 96 in Brockport. Predeceased by husband, James O. Boyd. She is survived by son James A. Boyd of Troy; daughter, Susan M. (Richard) Alexander of Brockport; grandchildren, Steven Boyd Alexander, Elizabeth Dorothy (Lee) Anderson, Nancy Simmons Alexander; great grandchild, Jack Boyd Anderson.

She lived in Brockport for six years with her daughter and husband and grew to love western Monroe County with its picturesque farm land and variety of fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed reading and always had at least one book going.

She also enjoyed listening to the news, discussing current events and she never missed Jeopardy on television.

Dorothy loved going out to lunch or dinner with her family, was in good health until the last few days of her life and she died four days short of her 97th birthday.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Donations can be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church, Lansingburgh, NY.


•Russotti, Michael, March 24, 2002 at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; daughter-in-law, Lucy Carter of Albion; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren; his sister, Carmella Jones of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Michael was a veteran of WWII.

Funeral Services were held March 27 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.


CHILI

•Gruendike, Joan, Age 95, was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and lived in Chili near the corner of Chili Avenue and Beaver Road in 1921. She married Wilbur Gruendike in 1926 and raised her children at the home they built on Buffalo Road. She was active in the Girl Scouts, the United Methodist Church, Pearce Memorial Church, Lakeside Hospital Twig Association and volunteered for Strong Memorial Hospital.

Joan passed away at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, February 8, 2002.

She had passion for hospitality, generosity and an indefatigable spirit and love of life, family and faith in God. A kind, white haired and self-reliant lady at age 40, she was mother to many and grandmother to all young people she met.

Her children are Jean Ellinwood of Spencerport, Joyce Vembre, Brockport and Larry (Martina) Gruendike of Seattle, Washington; eleven grandchildren (Joan Charles, Carol Ellinwood, Todd Ellinwood, Tom Ellinwood, Larry J. Gruendike, Jill Gruschow, Jacqueline (Gruendike) Lefort, Janice Payne, Cindy Steltz, Doug Tyner and Connie Tyson); 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held February 16 in Chili and remembrances may be sent to Pearce Memorial Church, North Chili, NY in her name.


HILTON

•Baker, Randal J. "Randy," Peacefully on March 25, 2002, age 37. He is survived by his wife, Christine; his parents, David and Janet Baker; his children, Jacqueline, Robert, Abby and Emily; brother, David (Susan) Baker; his sister, Jill (William) Valle; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Barbara Carmen; his brother-in-law, Wayne (Patricia) Carmen; his sister-in-law, Susan (Brian) Duffy; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many close friends.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Randy's life was held March 27 at St. Leo's Church, Hilton. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Randy Baker's Children's College Fund, P. O. Box 745, Hilton, NY 14468 in his memory.


•Hoefen, Esther J., March 24, 2002 at age 80. She is predeceased by her husband, Willard; daughter, Judy, son, Mark. She is survived by her children, John (Michelle) Hoefen, Michael Hoefen, JoAnne (William) Camann; sister, Thelma (George) Goodman; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Scleroderma Foundation of Western NY, P.O. Box 708, Hamburg, NY 14075.


•Krizan, Michael J., March 20, 2002 at age 84. Predeceased by his parents and four sisters. He is survived by wife, Florence; children; J. (Margaret) Krizan, Elaine (Bernie) Best, Shirley Scarlett; brother, Julius; sister, Theresa Beauchamp; sister-in-law, Ethel (Gerry) Reichhart; grandchildren, Brian (Crissy), Kevin, Tom, Rob Best, Stephen, Mark (Pam), Mike, Debbie, Adam Scarlett, Rebecca (Aaron) Edwards, Kristina (Joe) Boyle; five great grandchildren. Michael was a veteran of Foreign Wars.

Funeral Services were held March 25 at St. Mark's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Joseph's Villa or Mass Cards welcome.


•Worden, Lillian R. "Tillie," March 20, 2002 at age 91. Predeceased by husband, Albert Worden. Survived by sons, James (Cynthia) Worden of Rush, Terry Worden of Nevada City, California; sister, Florence Sage of Naples, NY; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Parma Union Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.


KENDALL

•Sorg, Jakob, Age 82, died March 25, 2002. Survived by wife, Theresia; children, Alfred Sorg of Chicago; Helmut (Terry) Sorg of Arizona, Linda (Don) Siracusa of Greece, Charles Sorg of Kendall and John (Stormy) Sorg, also of Kendall; sisters, Mitzi Haslinger of Austria, Margaret Fierro of Arizona and Susan Bauer of Germany; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held March 28 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc., Albion. Memorials can be made to the Kendall Ambulance Fund.


SPENCERPORT

•Mansler, Ruth A., Thursday, March 21, 2002 at age 76. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Katherine Mansler; her sister, Mary and her fiance, Fred Eisenburg. She is survived by many dear friends. Ruth was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company and was a member of the Sweden Senior Center.

Funeral Mass was held March 25 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. Friends wishing can make contributions to the Sweden Senior Center, 133 State Street, Brockport, NY 14420 or to a charity of choice in her memory.


•Prince, Thomas A., Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at age 47. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer R. Prince Sr. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Patricia (Perzik) Prince; his mother, Ellamae Prince; his brothers, Elmer Jr. (Beverly) of Florida, Wilbur Sr. (Peg) of Spencerport, Paul (Mary Lou) of Kendall and Gordon (Cheryl) of Spencerport; his sister-in-law, Sue Prince; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Stella Perzik; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was an employee of Pinewood Country Club.

A Memorial Service was held March 25 at Ogden Baptist Church, Spencerport. Spring interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund of Ogden Baptist Church in his memory.
