a 'Colt on Parade'

Fourth-grader MacKenzi Martin and Krista Beth Feltz discuss how to best paint the nose of a fiberglass colt. MacKenzi and a group of other students at Churchville-Chili's Chestnut Ridge Elementary School painted the colt, similar to the horses in Rochester's Horses on Parade. Teacher Marg Holderle and student teacher Feltz came up with the idea for the colt, which came in September from Prewitt Fiberglass in Nebraska. Feltz designed and painted the Italian Stallion for Horses on Parade. Prewitt Fiberglass drove the colt to Rochester when they came for the horse auction in September. The Chestnut Ridge parent organization paid for the colt. The colt has the picture of each student and teacher in the school on it. The colt was on display at the school's Author's Night on March 27. The colt will now "live" at the school for generations to come.
