Kids can learn the ABC's of fish hatchery

Just in time for trout season, pre-school children ages 3-5 can participate in the Parks Department's ABC's of the Fish Hatchery Program. Kids will learn about fish and Powder Mills Park's famous hatchery through Activities, Books and Crafts. This hands-on learning experience also includes a tour of the hatchery and an opportunity to cast a fishing line into the creek.

The ABC's of the Fish Hatchery is being offered April 8, 15, 25 and May 2. Classes start at 10 a.m. at the Rand Lodge in Powder Mills Park. There is a $5 fee per child. To register, call 256-4967. Monroe County's Powder Mills Park is located in the Towns of Pittsford and Perinton. Take Route 490, exit Bushnell Basin, go left onto Route 96, travel approximately 1/4 mile. Park entrance is on the right.
